Dr. Robinson’s course Reading to Succeed: Reaching your full potential will be taking place again this fall in Appleton, Wis. (See video of summer program
The course is designed to train students receiving Special Education services how to spell, read, and learn comprehension strategies they can apply independently. Furthermore, the course will serve to empower students to advocate for themselves and stimulate students toward internal commitment and purpose. Overall, the emphasis of the course is to help students see themselves as SCHOLARS, break the cycle of failure, and self-defeating attitudes towards reading.
Cost: $10.00 a student per class (does not include Webster’s collegiate dictionary 11th edition. Student is responsible for purchasing their own).
Assessment: Pre/Post test Woodcock Johnson.
Date: Course runs from October 2nd – December 15th, 2017.
Classes: Youth (8th – 12th grade): Tuesdays, Wednesday’s, and Thursday’s (4:15-5:15 pm; 5:30-6:30 pm).
Monday, Wednesday & Friday 10:30-11:30 am (class for adults who are homeless). *If you are interested in sponsoring a student for this course please contact Dr. Robinson.

Experience Dyslexia® is a simulation that lets participants experience some of the challenges and frustrations faced by people with language-based learning differences. Participants are guided through six learning tasks commonly encountered in the classroom or workplace. These activities are followed by a group discussion focusing on experiences shared and lessons learned, as well as practical tips, accommodations, and interventions for the classroom.
