Wisconsin Eye Morning Minute

On April 18, the Assembly on Education held a public hearing on Assembly Bill 110 which relates to developing a guidebook for teaching those who have dyslexia or related conditions. Shawn Robinson, senior research advocate at Wisconsin’s Equity and Inclusion Laboratory – Wei LAB, testified on the bill by sharing his story of being dyslexic and what worked for him to learn effectively. Robinson also highlighted how being a person of color with dyslexia resulted in him get mislabeled as having behavioral and emotional disorder.
